MEET DUANE
Duane Grell
PT, DPT, NCS, OCS, CMPT, COMT, CSCS, MSCS, FAAOMPT
Dr. Grell believes emotional and cognitive health is as important to healing as musculoskeletal well-being. When working with his clients, his goal is to find a balance between all three realms, emotional, cognitive, and musculoskeletal, and develop an individualized treatment regimen, specific to the patient’s overall goals and well-being.
CLINICAL APPROACH
Dr. Grell’s treatment approach is centered around driver assessment and movement analysis, addressing any underlying movement dysfunctions or arthrokinematic issues that may be causing the musculoskeletal dysfunction. When working with clients with neurological impairments, Duane follows an ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health) based approach, identifying and addressing the specific body function or movement that is causing the activity and participation limitations.
CONTINUING EDUCATION & BEYOND
Dr. Grell also has a passion for teaching and recognizes the importance of promoting skilled physical therapy throughout the profession. He is a faculty member of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Dominican University New York, lecturing in three courses: Neuromuscular Assessment and Treatment, Motor Learning, and Advanced Principles in Physical Therapy. Dr. Grell plays rugby with the Old Blue Rugby Club, reads too many fantasy books, and is an avid skateboarder.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING:
“I cannot say enough about how much the PTs at Thrive (and especially my main PT, Duane Grell) have helped me manage my MS symptoms. Coming to Thrive has improved my walking, overall stability, and strength. It's not every practice that has such a strong neuro PT team, and this one has a razor-sharp understanding of what I need. I'm so grateful they're here!”
