MEET ELIZABETH

Elizabeth D’Annunzio Shah

PT, DPT, OCS, MTC

Dr. Shah works with patients of all ages and abilities covering a spectrum of orthopedic and mobility issues. Additionally, she applies her understanding as a biomechanist to her patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, and finds care of patients in this population deeply rewarding.

CLINICAL APPROACH

Upon graduating from Boston University she worked in Santa Barbara, CA at a rehabilitation facility specializing in neurologic injury including stroke, spinal cord injury, multi-trauma and brain injury. It was in this environment that she developed an interest in movement theory and creative movement solutions for both neurologically and musculoskeletally impaired persons. She spent the next five years at Sharp Rees Stealy in San Diego developing her manual skills and advanced clinical reasoning in orthopedics. While there, she pursued a manual certification from the University of St Augustine, which she proudly completed in January of 2017. Since having two children, her interests have also grown to include pelvic health rehabilitation. What started as a desire to care for pregnant and postpartum persons has expanded to include care for persons with pelvic health issues across the age and gender spectrum.

CONTINUING EDUCATION & BEYOND

Elizabeth is passionate about exercise as a means to maintain health, manage stress and enjoy life. For fun, she weight trains, is an avid surfer, and participates in a women's choir. She works to incorporate her love of activity into her approach to therapy and enjoys encouraging people to return to their personal and professional passions.
